First dismissal in A League: "TransINVEST" replaces G. Barevičius with D. Vencevičius

"Vilnius district's FK TransINVEST men's team will now be coached by Donatas Vencevičius", - announced in the official statement.

Coach Giedrius Barevičius will be responsible for the development of the club's young players.

Donatas Vencevičius started his career at the former Vilnius Vėtra club, with which he played in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, later continued his career at the Marijampolės Sūduva club, with which, as head coach, he won the silver of the A league.

Later Vencevičius' career took a turn to Poland, where he worked for many years with the club SKS Wigry Suwalki, and recently worked with the Polish Ekstraklasa Legnica and the first league Bialsko-Bialos Podbeskidzie clubs.

During the more than a decade-long career in Poland, D. Vencevičius returned twice to coach Lithuanian football clubs - Jonava's Jonava and Alytus' Dainava. The coach has gained a lot of experience coaching Lithuanian national teams. Previously, he was an assistant coach for the Lithuanian national team under Portuguese Jose Couceiro and Raimondas Žutautas, as well as D. Vencevičius was the head coach of the Lithuanian U21 national team in 2019-2020.

Since 2012 D. Vencevičius has obtained UEFA Pro license in Warsaw. In his football career, D. Vencevičius achieved his most notable victories representing Vilnius Žalgiris, Warsaw Polonia, and FC Copenhagen clubs. With these teams, the footballer became champion of Lithuania, Poland, and Denmark. Also, the former defender has played in Norwegian, Swedish, and Maltese championships. In the Lithuanian national team D. Vencevičius played 33 matches.
