Five innovations introduced at next year's UEFA tournaments

UEFA continues reconstruction work in its community - from next year there will be five more changes in the biggest club tournaments on the Old Continent. After Friday's meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Bratislava, it was revealed that spectators will have to adapt not only to new rules, but also to match times in next year's tournaments. The changes will take effect in the three biggest UEFA tournaments - the Champions League, Europa League, and Super Cup. The first and most important change is that UEFA will allow teams to make a fourth substitution from next year. This option will be available only from the knockout stages, when teams may play extra time, allowing them to make a fourth substitution. Also starting next year, in the finals of the three mentioned tournaments, team coaches will be allowed to include all 23 players in the squad, not just 18 as has been the case so far. There will no longer be seven players on the bench, but 12, giving coaches a greater selection of players in the most important matches of the season. Football fans will also have to adjust to new match times in the Champions League and Europa League. In the Champions League, group stage and knockout matches will start at 10 p.m. Lithuanian time. However, during the group stage, there will be a wider opportunity to watch matches - two matches each on Tuesday and Wednesday will be shown at 7:55 p.m. Lithuanian time. All group stage matches will be played at the same time in the final stage. The same match time rules will apply in the Europa League as well. The UEFA Super Cup match, which will take place in Estonia on August 15th, will also start at 10 p.m. Lithuanian time. From next season, UEFA will also allow clubs continuing their journey in European tournaments after the group stage to register three new players in the knockout stage. Finally, a less important change is that clubs who have won the Europa League tournament at least three times in a row or five times in total will have the opportunity to wear the tournament emblem on their sleeve with the number of victories achieved in the final. This option is already in place in the Champions League. "Sevilla" will be able to use it immediately, as they are the only team to have won the Europa League five times since 2006.
