Five Mexican national football team players were found to have a banned substance, clenbuterol, with anabolic properties in their bodies.

The specialists caught goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, defenders Francisco Rodriguez and Edgar Duenas, and midfielders Antonio Naelson Sinha and Christian Bermudez.

At the moment, the Mexicans are competing in the Gold Cup tournament in the United States. Participation in the tournament for these players has been suspended and they face disqualification for up to two years.

It is said that the substance could have entered the players' blood by consuming beef or chicken. There have been cases in the past where traces of clenbuterol were found in these products.
