Jlloyd Samuel, Alan Thompson, Jermain Defoe, Robert Green, and Sean Wright-Phillips have received their first career call-ups to play for the national team.
The call-up of Robert Green is somewhat of a surprise, as this goalkeeper will be the fourth in the team in this position alongside David James, Paul Robinson, and Ian Walker.
