Five out of five: "Liverpool" defeated "Tottenham" stumbling for the second time in a row

On Saturday, the 5th round of the Premier League started in England.

At the "Wembley" stadium, a true football treat took place - London's "Tottenham" hosted "Liverpool". Stuck in attack, "Tottenham" suffered their second consecutive defeat - Jurgen Klopp's side celebrated victory with a score of 2:1.

At the start of the match, the "reds" were active and already in the 2nd minute the ball found its way into Vorm's net. Roberto Firmino directed the ball towards the opponents' goal, but Sadio Mane, who was involved in this attack, was ruled offside.

Later, after the "Liverpool" storm, "Tottenham" settled down and started to control the ball. Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura were active among the hosts, but in the attack itself, "Spurs" found no remedy against the "Liverpool" defense.

In the 39th minute of the match, the first goal was scored - after a set-piece situation, which caused a huge commotion in the penalty area, Georginio Wijnaldum headed in to put the visitors ahead. Vorm had saved the ball flying towards the goal, but it had already crossed the line.

In the second half, "Tottenham" was determined to fight back, but the hopes of winning were shattered in the 54th minute. Sadio Mane, sprinting with his strength, made a sharp pass into the penalty area, Jan Vertonghen's attempt to clear the ball hit the crossbar, and from there the ball rolled directly to Roberto Firmino's feet and he increased the lead to two goals with a simple shot.

Both teams had chances in the remaining time. Lucas Moura was very close to scoring a goal, but his excellent breakthrough did not end with a precise shot - the ball hit the goal frame.

In added time, for a brief moment hope of grabbing a point was restored by Erik Lamela, but the Argentine's goal was not enough - "Liverpool" triumphed with a score of 2:1.

This was the fifth victory for the "Reds" out of as many possible. Meanwhile, "Tottenham" stumbled for the second time in a row and has already lost six points.
