Frank Lampard, who has become a legend at London's Chelsea Club, has officially confirmed that he will part ways with the "Blues" team this summer after spending 13 years with them.
The 35-year-old footballer's contract with the team in the English capital city ends this summer. There were rumors that Jose Mourinho wanted the Englishman to stay for one more season, but F. Lampard will no longer be part of the Chelsea team.
Following this decision, it is almost certain that the player, who plays in a defensive midfield position, will become the second player of the "New York City" team, although it is also not ruled out that "Manchester City" will offer him to stay in Manchester until January 2015.
"When I arrived at this fantastic team almost 13 years ago, I couldn't have imagined that I would play so many matches and experience so many successful moments. This club has become a part of my life," said F. Lampard.
"The club must move forward, and as a Chelsea man, I have no doubt that this team, with the current players, will achieve even greater success. Thank you for the memories and the history!" the Englishman concluded.
F. Lampard joined Chelsea back in 2001. The midfielder played 648 matches and scored 211 goals throughout the entire period. He is the only player of the London club to have scored so many goals.
During his 13 years with the "aristocrats," the footballer won just as many trophies.
