Bayern Munich returned from Madrid not only defeated, but also without one of their key players.
It is reported that Bayern's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer suffered a broken foot bone during the match. The injury occurred during the third goal, when Cristiano Ronaldo led Real Madrid ahead after an impressive Marcelo raid.
The third goal was scored in the 110th minute, so Neuer had to endure the pain for another 10 minutes. Neuer recently had problems with his left foot, and at the end of March, he underwent a microscopic foot operation.
This injury means that Neuer will not appear in goal for the rest of the season. Bayern will have to finish the last seven Bundesliga matches without the world's best goalkeeper.
Due to the injury, Neuer, who will be out of action for about two months, is at risk of missing the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament in Russia this summer.
