On Sunday, the qualifying matches for the 2016 European Football Championship continued. Romania and Albania joined the participants who will compete in France next year.
The first teams to enter the battles were from groups F and I. In group F, Romania confidently beat the Faroe Islands team with a score of 3:0 and secured at least the second place in the group.
Constantin Budescu (4, 45 min.) and Alexandru Maxim (83) scored goals for Romania.
In group I, the Albanian footballers achieved a victory of the same importance. They also won with a score of 3:0 against Armenia.
Valuable goals for Albania were scored by Berat Xhimshiti (23 min.) and Armando Sadiku (76 min.). In the ninth minute of the match, an own goal was scored by Kamo Hovhannisyan.
In group D, Germany, Poland, and Ireland competed for the last tickets. The last two teams faced each other, and the Polish team secured a victory and a ticket to the championship. They won 2:1 (2:1).
All goals were scored in the first half. Grzegorz Krychowiak put the Poles ahead in the 13th minute, but after three minutes, Jonas Walters equalized the score with a penalty kick.
In the 42nd minute, Robert Lewandowski scored a goal for Poland once again ahead. As it later turned out, this was the decisive goal.
Germany's national team won the matches in group D, defeating Georgia 2:1 (0:0) in the last match. The Germans struggled to overcome the opponent's defense for a long time, but Thomas Muller scored from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.
Just a few moments later - in the 53rd minute, Jaba Kankava equalized the score. Germany regained the lead only in the 79th minute, when Max Kruse scored.
Earlier, the participants of the Old Continent's football championship became England, Czech Republic, Iceland, Austria, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Wales, not counting the host team, France.
