Footballers' tattoos (4): R. Meireles and A. Griezmann

„EuroFootball.com" portal – a section that presents tattoos of top-class football players. Watching matches, you often see players with decorated bodies. Now you will have a great opportunity to find out what these athletes' tattoos symbolize, and at the same time, not only look at their game on the field but also their personalities. Former "Liverpool" and London's "Chelsea" player Raul Meireles stands out on the field not only with his game but also with his hairstyle and unique tattoos. Currently defending the honor of Istanbul's "Fenerbahce," the Portuguese player first adorned his body with tattoos at the age of eighteen. "I like tattoos. You know, it's a matter of taste," the midfielder has said. On Meireles's back, we can see a colorful Chinese dragon, symbolizing the happy years the footballer spent in his hometown of Porto, also known as the "Dragons." Portugal's chest is adorned with Gothic-style beads, on which a skull hangs. Furthermore, there is an immortalized date – the 3rd of March, 2004. Recently, two more, much larger skulls have appeared next to them, which the player has showcased on his Twitter account. Interestingly, on the right shoulder, there is a tattoo of a hand guarding the potatoes with the word LOVE. The letter here is extraordinary – it is represented by the logo of the UEFA Champions League, a ball made of stars, and the tattoo itself symbolizes the victory of "Chelsea" in the 2012 European tournament. Equally impressive is Meireles's right leg, adorned with three women's faces, a pocket watch, a rose, the funicular of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, and a tower located in Porto. Additionally, on the neck, we can see three stars and the numbers 14 and 16. It is also worth mentioning the very colorful Portuguese arms. On the left arm, as on the back, we see a dragon, while on the right arm, there are several images – a woman's face and a rose. Another player featured in today's section is Antoine Griezmann, the forward of Madrid's "Atletico." The Frenchman stands out more for his frequently changing hair color and cannot boast such a large number of tattoos on his body, but he is also worthy of attention. Griezmann's tattoos on his right arm reveal the player's religiosity. For example, a large image of Jesus Christ is tattooed on the player's shoulder. The Frenchman's back, like Meireles's, is adorned with a rose. However, here it is surrounded by clouds. Next to it, there are also tattooed stars and the initials of Griezmann's parents, showing that the forward is a family man. Also read: Footballers' tattoos (1) Footballers' tattoos (2): F.
