For Germans, this World Cup is the worst in 80 years

From the World Cup, the German team, which will be eliminated after the group stage, is having the worst tournament since 1938.

Four years ago, Joachim Low's team, who had become the strongest on the planet, had three points after two matches and today, having won, they would have firmly stepped into the quarterfinals.

However, they could not break through the South Korean defense in any way, and in the end, the opponents themselves scored two goals.

The German team reached the knockout stage of the World Cup in the last 80 years. However, in 1938, the Germans were eliminated by Switzerland, losing not even in the group, but just in the first knockout stage, because at that time such a stage did not exist at all.

Moreover, the German team had always finished at least seventh in the World Championships, which in the current format would be equivalent to reaching the quarterfinals.

The only exception during this period was the tournament of 1950, when Germany was banned from participating due to the recently ended Second World War.
