FOR or Enough Can Change Morocco by Hosting the Nations Cup

South Africa and Ghana, due to the raging Ebola, have become potential candidates to organize the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament, scheduled to take place in Morocco.

The virus has already claimed more than 8000 lives in West Africa and is the largest in history.

Although there have been no cases of the disease in Morocco yet, the country's authorities last week requested the Nations Cup to be postponed to a later date, fearing that the tournament could become the beginning of a pandemic.

As the Confederation of African Football (CAF) currently rejects this possibility, the location of the cup becomes increasingly uncertain.

FIFA officials hope that in the near future CAF will offer them to take over the organization of the tournament. An official from the country's federation to the press, Dominicas Chimhavi, confirmed that the organizers of the 2010 World Cup could also host the upcoming Nations Cup.

Meanwhile, Ghana's Minister of Sports Mahama Ayariga revealed that CAF is also considering their country's candidacy. The chances of a West African state are increasing, as the South African Republic organized the tournament last year. However, Ghana is in the region most affected by Ebola.
