Former Argentina national team goalkeeper suggested L. Messi move to "Real"

Former Argentine national team and "Boca Juniors" goalkeeper Hugo Gatti wants Lionel Messi to take on new challenges in his career.

The 75-year-old Argentine, known for his controversial comments on a Spanish football show, believes that L. Messi should not move to a completely new league - it would be enough for him to join the Madrid "Real" club, where he could prove whether he is truly the best footballer of all time.

"It may seem like I am anti-Argentine, but until Messi starts showing his worth in the most important matches, I will consider him a home player," H. Gatti said on the "El Chiringuito" show.

"If he has 'eggs,' he should follow Cristiano Ronaldo's example and move to the Madrid 'Real' club. Otherwise, he will just remain 'just another player'.

Cristiano arrived at the best club on the planet, while Messi continues to play in his home, in his comfort zone.

I want to see his performances in the Champions League and the World Cup. If he can do that, then he can compete for the title of the best player with Cruyff, Maradona, and Pele.

Messi performs well only when he is allowed to do so. It is easy to do this when you play in your own environment," said the former goalkeeper.
