Former Munich "Bayern" sporting director Matthias Sammer has criticized Ousmane Dembele's transfer to "Barcelona" as necessary. According to him, this Catalan step is a disaster.
The talent formerly belonging to Dortmund's "Borussia" went to Spain for over 100 million euros and will replace Neymar in the ranks of the vice-champions of this country.
However, Sammer is not satisfied with how the 20-year-old expressed his desire to be sold - the whole story began with him missing a BVB training, and later the Frenchman was suspended.
"His strike led him where he wanted to go," - the former "Bayern" sporting director told Eurosport. "This is a disaster."
"Considering the interests of fair play in football, such behavior should not be rewarded."
Dembele scored 10 goals and provided 21 assists in 49 matches across all competitions last season.
