According to former Egypt national team strategist Bob Bradley, the new London Arsenal acquisition Mohamed Elneny is capable of more than just destroying opponents' attacks.
The American coached the winners of the African Cup of Nations in 2006, 2008, and 2010 from 2011 to 2013, and the "gunners" defender made his national team debut immediately after Bradley appointed him as its leader.
Although Elneny initially arrives at Arsenal as a replacement, and later to compete with the injured Francis Coquelin, the Egyptian coach believes he can benefit the team in attack.
"He is a versatile defender who can play in different roles," Bradley told NBC Sports. "He reads the game well, moves nicely, and can play withdrawn into the depth of the field."
"When needed, he can play both withdrawn and run forward and take long shots. He is not the kind of guy who just stands and breaks up attacks."
The strategist also mentioned that Elneny's adaptation in England should not take long, as he has played against Premier League clubs in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
