Former French national team footballer Franck Leboeuf is not convinced that Paris Saint-Germain's decision to acquire defender David Luiz will prove to be justified.
Before the 2014 World Cup, PSG attracted the Brazilian from London's Chelsea for an incredible sum of 50 million euros, but the Frenchman doubts D. Luiz's defensive abilities.
"I think David Luiz has many qualities, but his successful episodes are decreasing," said F. Leboeuf. "He is not a defender. José Mourinho tried him in defensive midfield, so the fact is that he is not a true defender."
"The problem became evident in the World Cup when he rushed forward instead of staying in defense just three minutes into the semifinals against the Germans. This scares me," concluded the former Chelsea defender.
