Former "Manchester United" defender Owen Hargreaves believes that Victor Lindelof needs to seriously step up his game, as the defender could lose Jose Mourinho's trust completely.
Yesterday, "Man Utd" experienced an unexpected setback in their away game - "Huddersfield" defeated the "Red Devils" for the first time this season with a score of 2-1. Lindelof is being criticized for both goals scored by the hosts - he replaced the injured Phil Jones at the beginning of the match and soon made defensive mistakes.
Hargreaves believes that Lindelof is currently going through a tough period both in terms of performance and psychologically. The Englishman has no doubt that the Swede can reach his best sporting form, but he cannot afford to make more mistakes.
"It's really difficult for him," said the footballer. "Let's remember how well he played for Benfica, especially in the Champions League."
"However, we only need to think about the match against Real Madrid, where he really didn't perform well. Today, he had the same problems and two goals were scored through him. He was thrown into the deep end when Phil Jones got injured, and he definitely had a lot of problems on the pitch. In Mourinho's team, you have to earn trust, and today he definitely lost some of it," added Hargreaves.
