Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon insists that Jose Mourinho, who was recently dismissed from Chelsea in London, will become the head coach of the "royal" club in the near future.
The paths of the teams from Portugal and England diverged this afternoon. The main reason for this is the tragic start of the season, which has left Chelsea in just the sixteenth place in the Premier League.
According to Calderon, it's only a matter of time before Mourinho returns to Spain and takes over the reins from Rafa Benitez.
"Mou is getting close to Madrid," wrote the former Real Madrid leader on Twitter. "Just a few things left to sort out and he will be here."
"Without a doubt, these are the best news for Perez during the toughest time of his presidency," Calderon added later.
Calderon further stated, "I must clarify that I only expressed my personal opinion on Mourinho. I am not speaking for anyone else."
It's worth mentioning that this is not the first time Calderon has spoken about Mourinho taking over at Real. In an interview with talkSPORT last month, he said, "It's no secret that the current president of Real Madrid has supported Mourinho many times."
"I know it seems strange, but if Benitez's season isn't good and Mourinho is released from his duties at Chelsea, we can't rule out the possibility of seeing him here," he added.
Meanwhile, the main favorites to finish the season as the coach of the "aristocrats" are Guus Hiddink and Juande Ramos.
