Former FIFA vice president Lennart Johansson is urging the current president Sepp Blatter to resign.
Johansson participated in the 1998 FIFA presidential elections, where he was defeated by Blatter. The Swiss was elected for a fourth term last year.
"It cannot be that all decisions about world football are made and dictated by one person," said Johansson. "There isn't much to discuss - that person simply must step down." He added: "I do not like his dictatorship, although I respect his knowledge. Most people would agree with me."
According to the Swede, the most ideal candidate to take Blatter's place is current UEFA president Michel Platini.
"He tries to be fair, is open to proposals, allows for discussion, and follows the will of the majority," Johansson praised the legendary Frenchman.
