In the English Premier League, another team has received a points deduction penalty.
This time, the unlucky team is Nottingham Forest, from which four points were taken away for not complying with financial fair play, as reported by The Guardian.
Interestingly, Nottingham club technically admitted to the violation, but wanted consideration for the sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham last September. However, this request was not granted, as the financial year in the Premier League ends on June 30.
An official announcement about the deducted points should be made later today, but it is certain that Nottingham will appeal.
Having four points deducted will push this team down to 18th place, trailing behind 17th place, which guarantees survival in the league.
It is worth noting that earlier, Liverpool's Everton also faced penalties of up to 10 points deduction. However, this sanction was later reduced to a fine of six points.
