France advances to the quarter-finals with time to spare (VIDEO)

On Monday, the French national team defeated Nigeria 2-0 at the end of the match and qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals.

The Europeans started the match slowly and did not create many opportunities to score.

Meanwhile, Nigeria demonstrated that they would not back down and tried to maintain initiative in attack.

In the 18th minute, the French fans held their breath - Emenike sent the ball towards Lloris' goal. However, the referee signaled an offside.

After a quiet period, the "Les Bleus" decided to step up and launched a dangerous attack. Valbuena passed the ball into the penalty area to Pogba, who tried to outsmart the African goalkeeper in one touch. Enyeama demonstrated excellent reflexes and managed to block the shot.

In the 33rd minute, Debuchy tried to score, but the ball flew high into the stands.

The second half started off unsuccessfully for Onanzi - the Nigerian coach was forced to substitute the injured Matuidi with a brutal tackle.

In the 70th minute, the African team had a scare - Victor Moses cleared K.Benzema's shot from the goal line.

A few moments later, a long shot from Cabaye hit the crossbar, and K.Benzema also missed a chance.

However, Enyeama couldn't hold on - after a corner, the goalkeeper failed to catch the ball and P.Pogba directed it into the net. The defeated Africans posed almost no threat to France.

At the end of the match, J.Yobo fought with Griezmann and accidentally scored an own goal, making it 2-0.
