One of the most famous English players of the last decade, Frank Lampard, announced on Tuesday that he is ending his career in the English national football team.
"I decided to retire from the national team. I thought about it for a long time after the World Cup, it was difficult for me to accept, but the decision is made," said F. Lampard.
The 36-year-old footballer, whose rights belong to the U.S. team "New York City" and is currently loaned to "Manchester City," played 106 matches and scored 29 goals for the national team.
In his last appearance wearing the England team jersey, F. Lampard faced Costa Rica in the World Cup.
Lampard has been defending England's honor on the football field since October 10, 1999.
