On Sunday, the last two matches of the 30th round of the German Bundesliga took place.
In the first match, Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen clashed. Freiburg, aiming for a place in the Europa League, defeated the visitors by a score of 2-1 at the end of the match.
In the 11th minute, the hosts took the lead, but in the 60th minute, Bayer equalized from the penalty spot. Nevertheless, in the 88th minute, Pascal Stenzel secured an important victory for the hosts.
Freiburg holds the 7th position with 44 points, while Bayer settles for the 12th place.
In other matches, Bayern Munich failed to take advantage of a draw and did not reduce the gap to six points against Leipzig. The league newcomers, in the second place, drew 1-1 with Schalke.
In the 14th minute, Timo Werner put Leipzig in the lead, but Schalke extended the match to a draw in the beginning of the second half after Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's goal.
With four rounds left to play in the championship, Leipzig trails Bayern by 8 points.
