On Sunday, the last two matches of the 32nd round of the German "Bundesliga" were played.
"Freiburg" hosted "Schalke" from Gelsenkirchen at home. The hosts achieved an important 2-0 victory in the fight for qualification to the UEFA Europa League.
Both goals for the winners were scored by Florian Niederlechner. The German striker scored the first goal in the 22nd minute, and another precise shot from the penalty spot in the 31st minute.
"Freiburg" is in fifth place with 47 points and is aiming to immediately qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.
In other matches, the teams "Hamburger" and "Mainz", fighting to stay in the league, played a goalless draw. Both teams have 34 points, but due to a better goal difference, "Mainz" remains in 15th place.
