The coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, announced on Thursday evening the list of 23 players who will represent their country at the 2018 World Cup.
The squad includes such country stars as Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane, and Hugo Lloris.
Left out of the national team squad are a number of stars - Alexandre Lacazette, Anthony Martial, Adrien Rabiot, Kingsley Coman, and Wissam Ben Yedder. All of these players still have the opportunity to make it into the squad - they are included in the reserve list, in case any of the current players suffer injuries or have other issues.
Also not going to the World Cup is Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, who still hasn't resolved personal issues with Didier Deschamps.
France will compete in the group stage of the World Cup against Australia, Denmark, and Peru.
