French striker O.Giroud: we are ready to die for a place in the World Cup © EuroFootball.com

The forward of the French national team and London's Arsenal club, Olivier Giroud, is determined to do everything to secure a spot in the World Cup in Brazil.

The chances of "Les Bleus" to go to the 2014 World Championships hung in the balance after a 0-2 defeat to the Ukrainians in the first round of the playoffs.

Despite this, national team forward O. Giroud believes in the team's ability to turn the situation around and states that he will do everything for a place in the World Cup.

"We are prepared to die on the field to qualify for the championship," the footballer expressed vividly. "We want to show the French fans and ourselves that we are proud to represent the national team. We want those who support us to be proud as well."

"The image on the field offended me. I want to repay the team. I believe that all my teammates want the same," said O. Giroud.

"Ukraine will greet us just like on Tuesday. We will not be surprised anymore. I believe we can qualify for the championship. I can't imagine a World Cup without France," the forward confirmed.

This season, O. Giroud is performing solidly - scoring 8 goals in 18 matches for Arsenal, and making two notable appearances in the national team.
