This year's World Cup discovery in Germany, the Frenchman Franck Ribery, will most likely not appear on the field this year as he needs to fully recover from a groin injury.
"It is very important to fully recover from the injury," said a representative of the team. "I am very disappointed, and I am not sure how long I will be unable to play. Most likely it will be until the winter break (from December 23 to January 6)."
F. Ribery stated that he first felt pain in his groin area three weeks ago during a French championship match where "Marseille" defeated the multiple champions "Lyon" 4-1.
"I did not have enough time to rest after the World Cup," explained the Frenchman, who helped his country win the World Cup silver on July 9.
