Munich's "Bayern" forward Franck Ribery expressed his opinion once again about the "Ballon d'Or" awards. This time, the footballer insists that Cristiano Ronaldo did not deserve this award, as the most deserving winner was the Frenchman himself.
On January 13, the best footballer of 2013 was finally revealed, who turned out to be the leader of Madrid's "Real." After counting the votes, it was revealed that Lionel Messi remained in second place, while Ribery, disappointed with the outcome, settled for third place.
"I won everything I could, both with Bayern and individually," said the 30-year-old. "Meanwhile, Cristiano did not win a single title last season."
"I'm not sad that I didn't win the Ballon d'Or, but it still hurts. I believe I truly deserved to win this award."
"It is clear that Ronaldo's triumph in these awards happened when the voting was extended for two more weeks. It was not about football, but a political decision," concluded the French national team player.
Last season, the forward with Bayern triumphed in three of the most important tournaments - the UEFA Champions League, the German League, and the Cup.
