The most dramatic match of this season's Champions League group D ended in a dramatic style.
After a goal in extra time, Tottenham defeated Marseille's footballers away 2:1.
At the end of the first half, Chancel Mbemba shifted the result in favor of the hosts. In the second half, the score was equalized by the "penalty" center-back Clemens Lenglet.
Antonio Conte's proteges would have been satisfied with a draw in this match in order to progress. However, after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's goal in extra time, they managed to secure three points and secure the first place in the group.
The second place was also claimed by Frankfurt's Eintracht team, who defeated Sporting 2:1 away and advanced to the knockout stages.
The Lisbon team's players took the lead in the first half after Arthur Gomes's goal. In the second half, Frankfurt's victory was determined by goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Daichi Kamada.
Sporting will play in the Europa League in the second half of the season, while Marseille is out of the European tournament.
