London's "Chelsea" forward Fernando Torres has stated that he would like to work with Madrid "Atletico" team coach Diego Simeone.
In the past, F. Torres and D. Simeone have played together at "Atletico", but in 2005 the Argentine went back to his homeland to finish his career, while the Spanish national team forward moved to play in England's "Premier" league in 2007.
This week, rumors spread in the media that the Spanish capital club is interested in F. Torres, and he fueled those talks on Thursday when he said he would like to work with his former teammate.
"I have admired 'El Cholo' since we were teammates. When we played together, he helped me a lot, taught me how to be a captain and many other things," Torres said.
"I always want to work with people I admire. I admired Rafael Benitez and had the opportunity to collaborate. The same happened with Jose Mourinho and Luis Aragones," added the 30-year-old forward.
"I have been lucky because I worked with people that you look at and ask yourself: 'What do they have that is so special, what is their secret, why do the teams they train play so well?'"
"Simeone, like Guardiola, is a coach you wouldn't miss the chance to work with and see what their training methods are and what they would teach you."
When asked if he plans to return to Madrid's "Atletico" club, the Spaniard replied: "In football, you can never know what will happen tomorrow, in a week, or in 10 years. How can I answer such a question?"
Throughout his career, F. Torres has defended the colors of three clubs: in 2007 he moved from "Atletico" to "Liverpool" for 38 million euros, and in 2011 he added to London's "Chelsea" for 50 million euros.
