Francesco Totti has extended his contract with "Roma" until June 2010. Earlier this week, Italy's national team coach Marcello Lippi did not include the player in the list of footballers playing in the World Cup qualifier against Norway.
The 28-year-old striker, who was born in the Italian capital and has spent his entire career in Rome, made his "Serie A" debut in March 1993. Totti has been a key player since 1995, and in 2001 he won the national championship with "Roma."
Totti, who will earn 10.4 million euros per season according to the new contract, has scored 110 goals in "Serie A" in over 300 matches. The Italian has represented the Italian national team 45 times, scoring 8 goals.
After extending contracts with Francesco Totti and Vincenzo Montella, "Roma" will try to extend the contract with Italian national team striker Antonio Cassano, who is of particular interest to Turin's "Juventus."
"Roma" will face Milan's "Inter" in the Italian Cup final on June 12 and 15.
