Italy's national team defender said he believed that this Italian team has already made history, but added that the World Cup final match would most likely be his last in the national team.

I thanked Marcello Lippi and will always be grateful to him for believing in my abilities to recover after a shin injury," the player said. "I am 90 percent sure that I am leaving the national team after the championship. I hope to finish my career in the national team at the top."
