The 59-year-old coach had a really great tournament with the Socceroos, but in the quarter-finals, they admitted Argentina's superiority with a 1-2 defeat.
After the match, the coach said: "My contract is up, and I just want to break away from everything, go on vacation, take a break and see what happens next.
"I worked incredibly hard in this championship, I didn't even think about the contract - I want a break, rest, and I am calm that I will have good negotiations with the organization," - said the 59-year-old specialist about his contract.
In the next World Cup, even 8 teams from the Asian group will play, so Australia's chances of getting there are increasing.
