G. Bale: we have earned the respect of other teams

The brightest star of the Welsh national team Gareth Bale did not hide his disappointment after the lost European Championship semi-final, but he was proud of his country and fans.

Yesterday, the team represented by G. Bale faced Portugal in the EURO 2016 semi-finals. They failed to achieve victory here, and Portugal beat them by a score of 2-0. G. Bale had to take the initiative both offensively and defensively, as Wales did not have their creative star - Aaron Ramsey.

"This tournament gave us a lot of confidence," said the leader of Real Madrid. "Now our opponents should start respecting us. The whole team says that this tournament was just the beginning for us. We want to play in the biggest tournaments and try to win there."

"We always wanted to compete with the best national teams in football. I think we made our country proud. I know we can do it again in the next tournament. This tournament gave us priceless experience," added G. Bale.

In the fall, Wales will face qualification for the 2018 World Cup. Led by G. Bale, they will compete with Austria, Serbia, Ireland, and Georgia for a ticket to Russia.
