Argentinian and "Fiorentina" football legend Gabriel Batistuta spoke to the publication "Marca" about the period when he was forced to end his career and the health problems that arose at that time.
"I gave everything to this sport. I had serious problems with my knees, I underwent surgery and had an artificial joint fitted.
Although now it is difficult for me to move, thankfully, I no longer suffer from severe pain.
Before, it was problematic for me to even go to the bathroom, I took painkillers by the handful. I felt like I was in prison.
I even thought they would amputate my legs. One day I went to the hospital and begged them to remove them, because I couldn't bear the terrible pain anymore," said Batistuta.
