39-year-old unstoppable Turin's "Juventus" goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, in an interview, expressed his exceptional admiration for the current Madrid "Real" forward Alvaro Morata.
The 24-year-old forward was sold to "Juventus" in 2014, but "Real" included a buy-back option in the deal, allowing them to reclaim him for 30 million euros. Last summer, Florentino Perez took advantage of this opportunity and the Spanish national team sniper once again wore the "Real" jersey.
"Recently, Alvaro had a lot of negative thoughts at the 'Juventus' club. We talked about it and I was very sad for him. He was one of those guys who I really liked and I wanted to give him security. He deserved help from the whole team," Buffon said about A. Morata's last months at "Juventus".
"His move to 'Real' disappointed me a bit, because we lost a big talent that still had to mature given his age. If he had stayed, I think he could have become the best player in our club now," the legend did not spare good words about the forward.
There is a good chance that A. Morata and G. Buffon will face each other this season. Both "Real" and "Juventus" are very close to reaching the UEFA Champions League final.
However, A. Morata's performance on the field cannot be guaranteed, as Karim Benzema is Zinedine Zidane's first choice in the forward position, although A. Morata is capable of scoring more goals than the Frenchman even when playing significantly less.
A. Morata, enjoying his most productive season of his career, scored 18 goals in 38 games.
