Before tonight's showdown with Liechtenstein in the World Cup qualifiers, Italian national team goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said that it won't be easy for his team.
The Italian opponents are such that no one even thinks about any result other than a victory, so it is quite easy to bring shame upon oneself.
"Such matches are indeed the toughest for goalkeepers," said the 38-year-old veteran.
"On paper, we are the favorites but if you don't respect the opponents, don't prepare well for the match, and don't have the right mindset on the field, you risk experiencing shame in one of those moments when you are involved in the game."
"I cannot allow myself, and the team in general, to experience this shame tomorrow. Don't forget that before the Faroe Islands our victory was in danger twice. I hope that tomorrow we will play well and keep a clean sheet."
At the moment, the Italians are second in group G.
