G. Gattuso: I am not a perfect coach

In the Copa Italia final, the new Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso, who led his players to the final, does not want to take credit for himself.

The Rossoneri yesterday defeated Roma's Lazio in a penalty shootout and will now face Juventus for the trophy.

This extended the series of 13 consecutive victories, which would have sounded unbelievable back in November under Vincenzo Montella.

"I know that sometimes I drive them crazy in training, but it pays off and eventually it will be worth it. This is a very young team and we must become the team that fans dream of again," Gattuso told Rai Sport.

"It is also important to acknowledge Vincenzo Montella's merits, as he introduced several important concepts and you can still clearly see the desire to keep the ball and move aggressively with it."

"I want to make it clear - I am not a perfect coach. I have not been here for long, I am not a guru on the bench and I have not achieved anything yet."

"At the same time, I am not the person some thought I would be. People have forgotten that I worked for the past five years, won the Lega Pro title, and had unpleasant experiences in difficult circumstances abroad."

"You don't learn this profession from books. You learn it by facing defeats. I have had some and will have many more."

"This is a dream and I am a very happy guy who was given this exceptional opportunity. If I have the chance to stay at Milan, of course, I will stay because this is my home. If I can't stay, then I will seek some other experience."

Gattuso will try to extend Milan's successful streak in the Sunday derby against Inter, with the first UEFA Europa League match against Arsenal in London on Thursday.
