Gonzalo Higuain will no longer wear the jersey of the Argentine national team - the 31-year-old footballer announced that he is retiring from international football.
The footballer, who currently plays for London's Chelsea on loan, last played in the World Cup held in the summer. His experience with Argentina and G. Higuain did not go well, and he did not return to play for the national team after the match against France.
"I think it's the end. After thinking it over, I decided that my time in the national team is over," - quoted by "Fox Sports."
"I want to spend free time with my family. Now you can stop worrying about whether I am in the national team or not. My time here is over," - added G. Higuain.
G. Higuain, who made his debut in the Argentine national team in 2009, played a total of 75 matches and scored 31 goals. Like many of his national team teammates, he lost three finals - twice in the South American Championship and once in the World Cup.
