Gonzalo Higuain's match against his former team was unsuccessful - the forward missed a penalty shot from 11 meters, and eventually was sent off the field.
In Sunday's Serie A duel, "Milan" was defeated by "Juventus" with a score of 0:2 at home. G. Higuain had a chance to equalize the score at the end of the first half, but his shot from the penalty spot was inaccurate.
Argentinian was sent off the field in the 83rd minute, when the referee showed him two yellow cards for talking and showing excessive emotions. G. Higuain apologized after the match to the team and its fans, but emphasized that it was emotionally tough match for him.
"I have to apologize to my teammates, coach, fans, and the referee, who knows what I said to him. He should understand the emotional state I was in," - said G. Higuain.
"I reacted too sensitively, it shouldn't have happened. When you play against your former club, the feelings are always different. I take responsibility and I know it can't happen again. At that time we were behind, and players are not robots. We are humans who also have emotions.
"I made a mistake, apologized and hope it won't happen again. I am a very emotional person and player. Sometimes it is really hard for me to control my emotions. I hope you understand the state I was in at that moment of the match," - said the forward, who was simply pushed out of the "Juventus" club this summer.
G. Higuain, who scored seven goals in 13 matches this season, will have to miss one Serie A match.
