The new FIFA president Gianni Infantino is visiting Russia for the first time in his new role. Having taken over the leadership of the FIFA organization in February and spoken about transparency, G.Infantino intends to visit the locations where the 2018 World Cup will be held. His tour of Russia began with a visit to the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where serious construction work is underway. G.Infantino inspected the stadium, which is meant to accommodate 81 thousand spectators. He met with the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin. G.Infantino plans to spend four days in Moscow. Four days later, G.Infantino will also spend time in Qatar, where the 2022 World Cup will take place.
