BBC television executives realized they had made a mistake.
The English media reported that suspended Gary Lineker could return to the show "Match of the Day."
The situation was commented on by BBC Director-General Tim Davie.
"We are trying to bring Gary back on air and we still want to provide our audience with top-level football reviews. We deeply regret that it did not happen today," the official clarified.
It will be recalled that G. Lineker was suspended for his thoughts on British politics and then his famous colleagues refused to work in the show, while club players and coaches decided not to give interviews to a possible heir to the throne.
