Television expert Gary Lineker believes that FIFA and UEFA should pay more attention to a pressing issue. In major football tournaments, honest players often end up empty-handed when they do not try to deceive the referee's crew. A similar incident occurred in last week's “Euro 2020” quarter-final match between the teams of Portugal and Belgium, when the attacker of the latter team, Romelu Lukaku, tried to stay on his feet until the very end of the attack and did not fall to the ground, even though his opponent was holding him by the jersey. Eventually, the attacker fell, and the referee turned a blind eye to the incident. "Lukaku not falling is considered the opponent's fault and did not even receive a penalty kick. That's exactly why football players simulate falls. Referees should reward athletes for honesty if we want the situation to change," said G. Lineker.
