G. Martino: Messi doesn't need goals

Argentinian national team coach Gerardo Martino said after an impressive victory against Paraguay with a score of 6-1 that Lionel Messi is happy and scoring goals that he doesn't even deserve.

The star of the national team, stationed in the middle of the field, contributed to a total of five Argentine goals against the opponents' goal and provided three assists last night.

"If Messi is distributing assists that end in goals, then there are no problems," Martino said. "It is more important that he adapts to the current situation. He doesn't seem worried to me. He is happy and doesn't have any problems."

"His happiness doesn't depend on how many goals he scores."

Interestingly, before the semifinal match, Argentina had scored the same number of goals in four matches, so the coach was pleased with the improved finishing of his players' opportunities.
