The composition of the Lithuanian national team has been changing quite significantly recently, but in the last window after a longer break, Giedrius Matulevičius returned.
Before the season, the forward who moved to Vilnius "Žalgiris" had a great start to the year and received laurels as the best player of March. This was evident after evaluating the assessments of commentators and representatives of online portals, and by collaborating with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) by adding the votes of captains of ten championship teams.
G. Matulevičius played 427 minutes in March, scored 3 goals, assisted his teammates twice, and stood out with a productive action in almost every match.
"The good start of the season was influenced by the playing style and a good team. I also think that playing together for several years with Ovidijus Verbickas and Paulius Golubickas, we know each other well,"
"March was personally great for me, and in terms of the game, the team did quite well, it's just a shame that so far we haven't been able to achieve victory at home," - summarized the footballer hailing from Marijampolė.
The main competitor for the forward position was Marius Paukštė, the goalkeeper of Telšiai's "Džiugas", who did not concede any goals last month, as well as two players from the Kaunas region team "Hegelmann" - Klaudijus Upstas and Patrick Popescu, who were also notable in the voting.
The runners-up will play their next match on April 7, against the future opponent at the LFF Stadium - FA "Šiauliai".
