Mexican football and World Cup legend Guillermo Ochoa has decided to return to play in Europe.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 37-year-old veteran will sign a contract with "Salernitana," who competes in the "Serie A" championship.
The contract will be short-term - six months, which will be valid until the end of this season.
G. Ochoa left this World Cup with the Mexican national team slightly earlier than planned. In the group stage, the North American team did not measure up to Poland and Argentina.
However, in the group stage, G. Ochoa stood out - he saved Roberto Lewandowski's penalty kick.
The goalkeeper himself wants to play in the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and his native Mexico.
