Barcelona extended the contract with the 27-year-old Spanish national team player. Now G. Pique's contract with Barcelona will be valid until the summer of 2019.
G. Pique has shown good performance during his time at the difficult club. He has been a core part of the team, which won two UEFA Champions League titles and five out of six national league trophies since his arrival in 2008.
Barcelona has not disclosed the financial details of the deal, but emphasized that G. Pique's signature will be put on paper within ten days.
G. Pique has played 266 matches with Barcelona and scored 20 goals.
