Spanish national team defender Gerard Pique said that he has no intention of leaving his country's national team, despite insults from fans.
During the European Championship qualifying match against Slovakia, the footballer faced whistles from the fans gathered in the stadium, but insists that it is just the rivalry of "El Clasico" matches.
"Retirement from the national team is the last thing I would do. Fans booed me for the Barcelona and Real Madrid conflict, but I don't intend to change," Pique said.
"There is excitement in derby rivalry, with one team playing well and the other losing. So let's hope that things go as bad as possible for the Real Madrid team. And those who don't like my words will have to accept it until the end of my career," Pique added.
"I watched the matches between Real Madrid and Juventus while wearing G.Buffon's gloves. I always want Madrid to lose. I love my team and no one should expect me to be different," said the defender. "When Real Madrid fans booed me at the Bernabeu stadium, it was like music to my ears."
