Since Philippe Coutinho's arrival at "Barcelona" over a year has passed, but he has not yet delighted the fans with his performance.
Ernesto Valverde trusts the Brazilian, but the fans' patience is slowly wearing thin. In Saturday's "La Liga" championship match, P. Coutinho played in the starting lineup, but when leaving the field, he received not a loud ovation, but whistles from "Camp Nou".
Gerard Pique says he understands the fans' dissatisfaction, as the transfer fee for P. Coutinho allows them to expect the best performance from him.
"Philippe is having a good season. Of course, he cost a lot, so the expectations for him are high in order to justify that money," said G. Pique.
"We need to accept the fans' reaction, and within the team provide him with as much support as possible. We need the best version of Coutinho, and I am sure that by the end of the season he will be in that form," added the defender.
"Barca" and P. Coutinho will face very important UEFA Champions League matches against "Lyon" in the upcoming week.
