G. Poyet: "I will be very surprised if Mourinho doesn't win a trophy with Tottenham" © JumpStory

Football specialist from Uruguay Gustavo Poyet believes that the London team Tottenham will taste victory in the near future. Last season, Tottenham reached the UEFA Champions League final, but they were left without a trophy. At the beginning of this season, Mauricio Pochettino was dismissed from his coaching duties and replaced by a specialist with a career full of impressive victories and prestigious trophies - Jose Mourinho.

"It is difficult to say whether the decision to dismiss Pochettino was wrong," said G. Poyet. "From the outside, everything seemed fine - five great years, Champions League final, beautiful football, and many incredible matches. Whatever the case may be, they (the club) decided to make changes and invited a coach who wants to win something, and Tottenham is aiming for that. Whether the decision was bad will be determined later."

"I can say that during the time Jose was given, he did his job. If he gets all three years, I will be truly surprised if he doesn't win any trophies. Perhaps it's a bit painful that there won't be a league cup next year, so the chances of winning trophies decrease. However, Jose is a coach who knows how to squeeze the maximum out of players when it's time to play the most important matches," shared the thoughts of the Uruguayan.
