One of the wonders of the future of the Icelandic national team has been solved. Gylfi Sigurdsson has signed a new four-year contract with "Swansea City". The 26-year-old midfielder has recently been linked with Liverpool's "Everton" club. According to reports, the "Toffees" were ready to submit a £20 million offer, but the Icelander decided not to pursue a new career station and remained loyal to the "Swans". G. Sigurdsson has been defending the honor of "Swansea City" since 2014, when he left London's "Tottenham". In two seasons with the Welsh team, the midfielder played 88 matches and scored 27 goals. Before reaching the quarterfinals with Iceland in the 2016 European Championship, the forward had previously worn the "Swans" jersey in 2014. He was loaned to "Hoffenheim" by "Swansea" in the second half of the 2011-12 season. Despite "Swansea's" joy over the new contract for G. Sigurdsson, they may soon lose their captain Ashley Williams, who is specifically linked with "Everton".
✍️ We're delighted to announce that Gylfi Sigurdsson has signed a new four-year deal.
